Well maybe its not new but we’ve recently refurbished our trade counter to give it a fresh new look. As we look to enter our 40th year in the business, we thought we should freshen things up, indeed Nigel couldn’t remember the last time we’d had it repainted! We’ve also had a look at reducing some lines, so there are some bargains to be had!
In the trade counter we’ve given pride of place to our weighing scales, which were pensioned off in 2018. We think these have been with us since the start and are now a real museum piece; indeed they are so heavy it took two of us lift them onto the plinth in the trade counter. But rest assured we’ve now invested in some swanky new digital scales.
The last 40 years have seen a huge number of changes, both in Ellesmere Port and the surrounding area. We’ve seen businesses come and go, types of businesses change and trends and fashions come and go. Yet we are happy to stay small and keep close to our customers. We don’t throw anything away, so our stockrooms have some amazing stuff buried in them. Whilst others have slimmed their ranges and placed fasteners as an “add on”, we’ve stayed true to the specialism. In fact we are often able to supply fasteners, which have been obsolete for some years. With stocks of less fashionable items dropping, you can be assured that we will either have it or can get it!
Whilst we’ve been pretty tight with money over the years, preferring keep prices and margins tight, rather than splashing out! However, as with technology and new products, it’s been time for makeover.
