Whilst the subject of Stud bolts can hardly be described as exciting, we often hear stories of how our fasteners are used, from holding down a distillation column to attaching vital armour plates to a classic tank!
ASTM A193 B7 studs are made of chromium-molybdenum steel and are well known for their capabilities to weather volatile and hostile environments. As a result, they are commonly used in the oil and gas industry for pipelines and refineries, both onshore as well as offshore. They can of course be used in many other environments or applications where studs are needed.
The studs are generally coupled with a pair of grade 2H nuts and used on flanges where joints and bends exist in the pipelines, and are commonly available with unified or metric threads. The studs and nuts can also be supplied separately. The B7 and 2H grades are similar to standard high tensile such as SAE grade 5 and Metric grade 8.8.
Here at Leyton, we stock a wide range of B7 studs complete with 2H nuts on the shelf. We also benefit from partnering with specialist manufacturers and suppliers who can provide a range of threads, lengths as well as other materials and finishes for these products exactly to customer specification.
Importantly we are also able to provide full certification and traceability for these items should that be required, critical if you are using them as part of a manufacturing process.
Should you require a non-stocked size or material, we can usually source these and have them shipped direct to you throughout Great Britain. If you have any enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We are always excited to hear about different projects and our customers’ requirements and we take great pride in our success rate for being able to provide exactly what our customer needs.
