Socket Shoulder Bolts are coarse by pitch which does make them more prone to vibrating loose. However, these bolts were originally designed for use within industrial settings such as locomotives and later became popular within British Motorbikes, machinery, ships and many other vehicles. The BSW thread was designed in the 1800’s and was the first national screw thread standard.
