Following a marvellous career including over 2 decades of work within the fastener industry, we must announce our much-loved team member Nigel retired at the end of March 2026.
Originally joining Leyton Fasteners as an office manager in July 2005, Nigel progressed to the role as company director in 2013 before selling the company in March last year. For the past 12 months, Nigel has remained an important figure in the office, continuing to impart his industry knowledge to the team and ensuring a smooth transition of ownership.
Nigel’s greatest achievement during his time at Leyton Fasteners is evolving the company admin system to become fully paperless. Through this operational modification, customer enquiries are dealt with more efficiently, ensuring consistently cheaper prices and faster response times.
During his tenure at Leyton Fasteners, Nigel has helped build many long-lasting relationships with customers and has always enjoyed using his knowledge and expertise to assist with all sorts of customer projects.
A passionate gardener in his spare time, Nigel is looking forward to the Summer ahead and plenty of time out in the garden tending to the various vegetables he grows himself. Retirement will also allow Nigel more time to keep up with other interests including motor racing, spending time with the grandkids and supporting his beloved football team, Sheffield Wednesday. Nigel is also the proud owner of a fully recommissioned Ford Cortina classic car which he exhibits at various trade shows across the country. Leyton Fasteners has provided Nigel with many nuts and bolts for his other restoration projects over the years, so we look forward to still seeing Nigel but this time on the other side of the trade counter!
