What is a self-drilling screw?
Often also referred to as TEK screws, the ingenious design of these screws mostly incorporate a tip with a built-in drill to cut directly through steel to save drilling a pilot hole, or a gash point for penetrating thin sheets when securing to wood.
The purpose of self-drilling screws
Self-Drilling screws are mostly used for installing roofing and cladding but have many other uses as they are available in a variety of shapes, sizes and to suit timber and steel of varying thickness.
Due to the design of these fixings, they offer a fast and labour-saving method of constructing buildings and structures in one action per fixing without the need to pre-drill.
